I, You, He, She, It, We, They

Short words that take the place of a noun!

📖 What are Pronouns?

A pronoun is a word that takes the place of a noun. Instead of saying “Rahul is happy. Rahul is playing.” we can say “Rahul is happy. He is playing.” The word “he” is a pronoun!

Pronouns make sentences shorter and smoother. Without pronouns, we would repeat the same name again and again — which sounds very boring! English has 7 main pronouns that you need to know.

💡 The Rule

Use a pronoun when you don’t want to repeat the same noun. The 7 main pronouns are: I, you, he, she, it, we, they.

🎯 Key Concept

🔁 Without pronouns: Rahul has a ball. Rahul plays with the ball.
✨ With pronouns: Rahul has a ball. He plays with it.
