How to order food in English?

Say ‘I would like…’ or ‘Can I have…’ followed by the food item. Always add ‘please’ at the end. Example: ‘I would like a masala dosa, please.’

Politely say: ‘Excuse me, I ordered [X] but this is [Y]. Could you please change it?’ Don’t be angry — mistakes happen!
