In Grades 2-3, you learned basic emotions (happy, sad, angry, excited). In Grade 4, you added proud, grateful, frustrated, jealous. Now in Grade 5, let’s learn truly advanced emotional vocabulary โ words like empathy, resilience, nostalgia, dilemma, and compassion.
These words help you understand complex human emotions, write with depth, and communicate maturely. They are also essential for character education โ understanding these feelings makes you a better, more emotionally intelligent person.

Advanced emotions go beyond simple feelings. They describe complex states of mind that involve thinking AND feeling together:
