Tenses: All 6 Basic

Simple + Continuous for Past, Present, Future

Master all 6 basic English tenses — simple AND continuous!

📖 Let’s Learn Tenses: All 6 Basic!

In Grade 3, you learned 3 simple tenses: past (ate), present (eat), future (will eat). Now in Grade 4, let’s add 3 continuous tenses! Continuous tenses show actions happening right now, in progress.

“I eat” (simple) = I eat regularly. “I am eating” (continuous) = I am eating right NOW, at this moment. See the difference? Simple = regular/complete. Continuous = happening/in progress.

💡 The Rule

6 Tenses = 3 Time Periods × 2 Types:
Present Simple: I eat. | Present Continuous: I am eating.
Past Simple: I ate. | Past Continuous: I was eating.
Future Simple: I will eat. | Future Continuous: I will be eating.
