Use questions to start friendly conversations
The best way to make friends is to ASK QUESTIONS! Ask about their name, school, hobbies, favourite things. People love talking about themselves. Show interest and be kind!

How to make friends in English?
Start with ‘Hi!’ and ask their name. Ask questions about their interests, hobbies, and school. Invite them to play or sit with you. Share something about yourself too. Be kind and smile!
What to say to a new classmate?
‘Hi! Are you new? I’m [name]. Welcome to our school! Do you want to sit with us?’ Show them around and introduce them to your other friends.
How to join a game?
Walk up and ask politely: ‘Can I join your game?’ or ‘Do you need one more player?’ Don’t grab or push in — always ask first!
What if someone says no?
